Basic EKG/Pharmacology

A new Basic EKG/Pharmacology course (up to 7 hours in length) is available from the American Heart Association. This course nicely supplements the ACLS course and serves well as an ACLS "prep course". Ideal for those participants who are taking ACLS course for the first time and those who need to refresh basic EKG interpretation skills. A certificate of completion is issued.

Advanced Airway Management

A new advanced airway course (4 hours in length) is now available from the American Heart Association. This is a modular course taught by those clinically experienced with these devices (ACLS Instructors, Anesthesiologists, CRNA's, Emergency Physicians, Paramedics, etc.). It is designed as an emergency airway course not an anesthesia course. Topics covered include ET tubes, LMA's, Combi-tubes and impedance Threshold Devices. The course includes extensive hands on practice. It can be taught as a stand-alone course or as a supplement to an ACLS or BLS Healthcare Provider course. A certificate of completion is issued. It is designed primarily to enhance the experience of ACLS and BLS certification courses (Pediatric advanced airway is still covered in the PALS course). Feel free to email me with further questions at acute_care@cardiosave.com.

Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS)

Another new offering is the PEARS course (Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization). This course is designed for those who do not need PALS but need to be able to manage pediatric arrest and near arrest situations. A certification card is issued for PEARS.
